Christine Downing is full time Instructor for the Dental Assisting Program. Christine is a Registered Dental Assistant and a Registered Dental Hygienist. She completed her certificate in the Dental Assisting Program from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology, Wascana Campus in 2004. After working as an RDA in private practice she returned to SIAST in 2008 and earned her Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2010. Christine was the recipient of the Clinical Proficiency Award on behalf of the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan. She started her career as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2010 and maintained her license as a Registered Dental Assistant. Christine has enjoyed mentoring Dental Assisting and Hygiene students over the span of her 15-year career in private practice. Christine is also an acting member of the Professional Conduct Committee with the Saskatchewan Dental Hygienists’ Association since 2016.
Passionate about her new role within the University of Saskatchewan Dental Assisting Program, Christine looks forward to making the program successful and sought after. Christine truly enjoys interacting with her students and providing them the tools they need to achieve their goals in the program and their future.
