College of Dentistry

Trish Goulet is a member of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation. Prior to joining the College of Dentistry, she taught at Vancouver Island University and the University of Saskatchewan (Indigenous Law Centre) as well as continuing legal education programs for the Canadian Bar Association.

As a registered dental hygienist, Ms. Goulet initiated the first independent dental hygiene practice in Manitoba, providing oral health care to vulnerable populations. She earned a Juris Doctor in law from the University of Manitoba, followed by a Master of Laws degree. Ms. Goulet has been called to the bar in the provinces of Manitoba, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. A practising lawyer, she worked as a litigator for eight years before a lifelong commitment to public service and innovation led Ms. Goulet to undertake a PhD in public policy. Her doctoral research is around the diffusion of Indigenous Cultural Safety programs in health care from British Columbia through to Ontario, with a particular interest around dentistry.
