The College of Dentistry is excited to announce and congratulate Drs. Petros Papagerakis, Silvana Papagerakis and Nikolaos Chronis (University of Michigan) on receiving a National Institute of Health Award in amount of $460,000 CAD (over two years), the first ever NIH award received by the U of S and the College as a Principle Investigator. This award is to support the generation of pilot data that will be used towards a second submission for a five year $2M USD, grant at the end of the first year of the current award.
In addition to this wonderful news, we are pleased to announce that Petros and Silvana’s proposal to the CFI John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) has been recommended by the U of S CFI Working Committee to go forward to the final stage of the submission process. Should they be successful, Petros and Silvana will receive $929,349 in funding for their project on “Advanced Single Cell Analysis (ASCA) to Discover Unique Molecular Profiles for Circadian Clock Disorders”.
Once again congratulations on this tremendous success!
