Become a Patient
Patient care is delivered by senior students under the supervision of licensed dentists at all times. The clinic provides the setting for the clinical component required for the completion of the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
You will be asked to make a screening appointment to determine whether your dental needs can be met by our students. There is no charge for this appointment other than radiographs, if required. Once you are accepted as a patient, you will be scheduled for a examination appointment where you will receive a thorough examination and a treatment plan will be established. There will be a charge for the examination appointment. Patients are then assigned to students. At times, you may have to wait for the appropriate skilled student to become available.
As treatment is provided by students, treatment times are longer than would be experienced in private dental practices. Depending upon the nature of the treatment, appointments range in duration from 30 minutes to three hours.
