Professional Highlights

  • After graduating from dental school, I completed a General Practice Residency at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. I gained valuable experience managing medically complex patients, performing dental treatment under intravenous, intramuscular, and inhalational sedation and general anesthesia, assisting the oral maxillofacial surgeons in the operating room, working with oncologists at the Saskatoon Cancer Center and rotating through the plastic surgery, anesthesiology and emergency department services.
  • I fulfilled my lifelong dream to be an educator when I joined the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Dental Programs faculty in 1992. It has been my privilege to learn with the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene Students.
  • In 1993, I had opportunity to travel to Zimbabwe where I helped facilitate workshops for the Zimbabwe School of Dental Therapy and Technology.
  • Over the last 30 years, I have been honored to present numerous continuing education programs for members of the Saskatchewan Dental Assistants Association, Saskatchewan Dental Therapy Association, Saskatchewan Dental Hygienists Association, the College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Alberta, the College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia, and the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan.

My Greatest Joys

  • My greatest joy is my family – Jamie holds a Business Administration degree from the University of Regina Hill School of Business. She is working full time in the consulting department of a national firm.  
  • My hobbies include singing, volunteering, tending my beautiful yard, and learning new things.
