Dr. Daniela Pita de Melo, DDS, MSD, PhD, is a clinician-scientist and Assistant Professor of Oral Radiology at the College of Dentistry, University of Saskatchewan, where she also serves as Academic Director of Graduate Studies. Dr. Pita has extensive experience in oral and maxillofacial radiology, using advanced imaging techniques. She is enthusiastic about sharing her classroom experiences and motivating students to appreciate the art of diagnosis. Her diverse background has also led to collaborations with colleagues at various institutions and societies. This is reflected in her numerous publications and administrative roles over the past years.
Dr. Pita de Melo advocates for evidence-based dentistry, and her research plans include ongoing investigations into CBCT diagnostic strengths and weaknesses, infrared thermography applications in Dentistry, MRI assessment of TMD, and the diverse applications of artificial intelligence in diagnostic imaging. Throughout her career, Dr. Pita de Melo has published numerous scientific papers in high-impact journals, with an h-index of 23.
