Currently, she teaches dental students in the disciplines of Diagnosis and Clinical Comprehensive Care. Dr. Batistella completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, with one year of exchange at the University of Toronto, Canada.

During her master’s and PhD in Oral Diagnosis at the Federal University of Catarina, Dr. Batistella’s foci of study encompassed evidence-based research and prognostic markers for oral cancer progression. Between 2022 and 2024, she pursued her postdoctoral research at the University of Toronto, assessing the role of dental care on the reduction of oral inflammatory loads of individuals with financial barriers to dental care access.

Dr. Batistella is interested in exploring the oral inflammation’s role in the oral and systemic outcomes of patients undergoing cancer treatment and those living in remote areas.
