New Oral Oncology Program Begins

July 14, 2020 marked the start of the new oral oncology program in the USask College of Dentistry

The oral oncology program is being led by Dr. Amanda Gruza (DMD, FRCD (C)), an assistant professor in the College of Dentistry and the director of the oral oncology program.

This one-year program will admit two fellows each year. The two fellows that were admitted for the 2020-2021 academic year are Drs. Jessa Drury and Susanne Skulski both recent graduates of the College of Dentistry Doctor of Dental Medicine program.

Throughout the program, the fellows will treat patients who are immunocompromised and/or those who have been diagnosed with cancer.

“The program is partially supported by the Ministry of Health in Saskatchewan.” Said Gruza. “It is an important program for the people of Saskatchewan as the College of Dentistry continues to expand the care it provides in the community and train the best oral health clinicians.”
