College of Dentistry celebrates success in prestigious national student research awards
The University of Saskatchewan’s (USask) College of Dentistry is proud to announce that seven students have been awarded Canadian Association for Dental Research/Network for Canadian Oral Health Research (CADR/NCOHR) student research awards.
By Duane KripThe CADR and NCOHR are cornerstone organizations in the dental research landscape, with a mission to advance research and increase knowledge for the betterment of oral health in Canada and globally. Their role extends beyond simply supporting researchers—they are dedicated to representing the oral health research community and ensuring that groundbreaking discoveries are effectively communicated and translated into meaningful improvements in dental care.
This prestigious achievement for students, faculty, and the entire dental research community, affirms the College of Dentistry's commitment to advancing oral health research.
Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Walter Siqueira, a former president of the CADR, expressed his pride in the achievement:
“These results make me extremely proud of our college’s collective achievement. As a former president of the CADR, I know how competitive these awards are. For a single college to receive seven awards out of twenty across Canada demonstrates that our research portfolio is becoming as strong and relevant as our clinical experience. Here, we received five out of six total awards for the Junior category in all of Canada!”
This accomplishment highlights the significant strides our students and faculty are making in research that tackles both clinical and scientific challenges.
