Leticia Cidreira Boaro Research Portfolio: Dr Leticia Boaro DDS, MSC, PhD (Assistant Professor) works with the development of new dental materials with remineralizing and antibacterial activities. She has been studying dental materials since 2011 and developed an expertise in this field that is very important for the evolution of current materials. Dr. Andrew Leask
Andrew Leask Research Portfolio: Dr. Leask BSc (UBC), PhD (Chicago), postdoc (Stanford) is an expert in fibrosis and tissue repair, specifically regarding scleroderma and the oral cavity. Former trainees have obtained positions at institutions such as: University of Toronto, Massachusetts General Hospital, Genentech, Perkin Elmer and Bayer. Dr. Leask is or has been on the editorial board of several journals, including Matrix Biology, and on the scientific boards of several societies, including the European Tissue Repair Society. According to Google Scholar, he has an h index of 70,~21,000 citations, and over 230 publications. According to Stanford University, he is in the top 2% of research scientists in the world.

Dr. Lina Marin
Lina Marin Research Portfolio: Dr. Lina Marin DDS, MSc, PhD (Assistant Professor) (Currently on Maternity leave) Dr. Marin will be seeking Masters and PhD students to work in her laboratory when she returns starting in May 2025. Dr. Marin’s research focuses on deciphering the dynamic interaction between biofilm-forming microorganisms in the oral cavity and their host to understand the role of the biofilm and the factors and mechanisms involved in health and disease.

Dr Eduardo Moffa Research Portfolio: Dr Moffa DDS, MSc, PhD (Assistant Professor in Prosthodontics), is currently seeking for Masters and PhD students to work in the field of Dental Materials. Some specific research areas include: i) Adhesion and formation of bacterial and fungal biofilms on materials used for the base of removable prosthesis; ii) Antimicrobial effectiveness of nanomaterials and surface modifications of biomaterials / oral mucosa, and iii) Biocompatibility of substances used for preventing or disposing of biofilms.
